Crochet Baby Doll Top & Crochet Skirt Free Pattern
Who doesn't love a good peplum top? Because I wanted one for my birthday, I designed one! I am so in love with my new crochet baby doll top. It's so awesome that while crocheting this design, I noticed that this would be a super cute crochet beach cover up as well. So I included photos for that option in this pattern. This crochet baby doll top is fun and flirty and is great for casual date night, would make a cute crochet festival top or even a wonderful top to go dancing in. I love the drape of the ruffly peplum bottom. It offers nice movement for a weight 4 yarn. So, let's jump right into this pattern and I hope you enjoy! Crochet Ribbing Waistband
***Begin with D Hook.
Foundation: Ch 8.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in every st across. In total, 7 sc.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 1 blo sc in every st across.
***Repeat row 2 until ribbing can stretch to 37 (40, 44, 48, 53, 55) inches or to custom measurement for around the shoulders.
***Crochet the two ends together by putting 1 sc or sl st in every st of both ends of the band to create a circle.
Crochet Skirt
***Switch to E Hook.
Ch 1, turn to work along the bottom of the band, with seam on the inside.
Row 1: 1 sc in the side of every row, sl st in sc. (Everyone will potentially have a different amount of rows in the ribbing, so there will be a different amount of stitches in this row).
***Switch to F Hook.
Row 2: Ch 1, 1 sc in every st around, except increase to the next multiple of 8, by adding 2 sc in the same stitch as needed, sl st in sc.
***For example, I had 116 stitches in row 1 so I need 4 increases to reach the next multiple of 8 which is 120.
Row 4: Ch 6, dc in same st, *ch 3, [dc + ch 3 + dc] in next dc*, repeat * around, sl st in 3rd ch of 6.
Row 5: Ch 6, *dc in next dc, ch 3*, repeat * around, sl st in 3rd ch of 6.
Row 6: Ch 6, *dc in next dc, ch 3*, repeat * around, sl st in 3rd ch of 6.
Row 7: Ch 6, *dc in next dc, ch 3*, repeat * around, sl st in 3rd ch of 6.
Row 8: Ch 6, *[dc + ch 3 + dc] in ch3 sp, [ch 3, dc in next dc] until reaching the ch 3 sp above the V stitch increase from the initial increasing row which began in row 4*, repeat * around, sl st in 3rd ch of 6.
***Repeat rows 5-8 until row 19 is complete or desired length. This pattern can be extended into a dress or longer skirt by continuing repeating rows 5-8 or just repeat row 5 if you wish to stop increasing while still adding length.
Crochet Skirt Border / Edging
***Continue with working yarn.
Row 1: Ch 7 (counts as dc + ch 4), *dc in next dc, ch 4*, repeat * around, sl st in 3rd ch of 7.
Row 2: Ch 18 (counts as dc + ch 15), *tr cl in 15th ch from hook, dc in next dc, ch 4 (counts as 1st tr in tr cl) + tr cl in dc just made, dc in next dc, ch 15*, repeat * around, sl st in eye of 1st tr cl/3rd ch of 18.
***It is okay if the first and last tr cl has a loop above it instead of the alternate tr cl without a loop above.
Row 3: Sl st to next loop, ch 2, 13 dc in every loop around, sl st in dc.
Row 4: Sk 1, *1 sc in next 5 st, sc + ch 3 + sc in middle st, 1 sc in next 5 st, sk 2*, repeat * around, sl st in sc. Fasten off.
Top of Waistband
***Switch to E Hook, reattach yarn to top of the ribbing where the seam is, pull up a loop, work on the right side only.
Row 1: Ch 1, 1 sc in the side of every row around, sl st in sc. Fasten off.
Crochet Bra Cups – A (B, C, D, DD)
Foundation: Ch 2.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook.
Row 2: Ch 1, turn, 3 sc in same st.
Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc, 3 sc in middle st, sc.
Row 4: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in every st across until middle st, 3 sc in middle st, 1 sc in every st across.
***Repeat row 4 until 17 (18, 19, 20, 22) is complete.
Row 18 (19, 20, 21, 23): Ch 1, turn, 1 sc in every st across.
***Repeat rows 18 (19, 20, 21, 23) until row 28 (30, 31, 33, 36) is complete. Fasten off.
***Repeat for second cup.
**Align cups so that the chevron increases are on the outside of the two cups. The ribbing seam is the center back of the skirt. Find the center front and mark, then mark the amount of sts needed for each cup based on the rows in each cup. EX: D cup had 33 rows so mark 33 st in each direction from center front. From the inside, reattach yarn to outer most stitch marked for cups, sc or sl st cups to band matching one st from the band to the side of every row of the cup.
Top Border & Straps
Continuing with working yarn, turn garment right side out.
Row 1: Ch 22, sk 4, 1 sl st in every ch until reaching cup again, 1 sc in the side of every row until reaching the top of the first cup, ch 260 (275, 290, 300, 310, 320), 1 sl st in every ch until reaching the cup again, 1 sc in every stitch across until the top of the next cup, ch 260 (275, 290, 300, 310, 320), 1 sl st in every ch until reaching the cup again, 1 sc in the side of every row until reaching the bottom corner of the 2nd cup, ch 22, sk 4, 1 sl st in every ch until reaching the cup again. Fasten off.
***Switch to E Hook. Reattach yarn to top stitch on the inside of one of the bra cups, pull up a loop, *ch 1, sl st to 1st st of strap, sc in same st as knot, 1 sc in every st across the cup until reaching the middle st, either sk the middle st if there is only 1 middle st or sc2tog if there are 2 middle stitches, 1 sc in every st across next cup until sc in last st of cup, sl st into first st of strap*, repeat * once more (or twice more if preferred), fasten off.
