Crochet High Waist Thong Free Pattern

I designed this crochet high waist thong free pattern for as a part of an 8 piece crochet bikini collection called Bare Sands. This project features a moderate front coverage and a thong back.

I really love the high waist fit. Also, this is a fairly easy crochet project that works up quickly due to the basic stitch design. The pattern features chain stitches, single crochets and double crochets.

You will need a medium weight 4 yarn and an F Hook / 3.75 mm Hook for this crochet thong. The sizes included in the free pattern are XS – 3X.

Materials

80 – 160 yards of medium weight 4 yarn for solid color OR Main color: 45 – 90 yds, Border = 35 – 70 yds)
F Hook / 3.75 mm Hook

Foundation: Ch 14 (16, 18, 20, 22, 26, 28).

Row 1: Dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in every st across.

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, dc2tog, 1 dc in every st across until 2 st left, dc2tog.

***Repeat row 2 until row 6 (7, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13) is complete.

Row 7 (8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14): Ch 1, turn, 1 dc in next 3 st.

***Repeat row 7 (8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14) until row 23 (25, 28, 30, 32, 34, 37) is complete.

Row 24 (26, 29, 31, 33, 35, 38): Ch 1, turn, 2 dc in 1st st, 1 dc in every st across until 1 st left, 2 dc in last st.

***Repeat row 24 (26, 29, 31, 33, 35, 38) until row 25 (27, 30, 33, 36, 39, 42) is complete.

Border

Either continue with working yarn or fasten off and reattach new color and pull up a loop. Crochet over any tails as you go.

Ties

Ch 90 (100, 110, 120, 130, 145, 155), sc in the sc that is 1 away from the corner st, 1 sc in next 2 st, ch 90 (100, 110, 120, 130, 145, 155), fasten off. Repeat for all 4 corners.
